Matter of Fabrics is what textile is to me. A diverse, flexible and beautiful material that we all have a relation to in our every day life. A fabric from nature with a long tradition of craft and essential use. I go back to the traditions and I have always found alot of inspiration and knowledge in it. The slow work, made by hand is the part I enjoy most. It is a mediative, time consuming and a great craft. Textile can be filted, woven, embroidered, sewed or knitted together. The imperfect is perfect and made by hand.
Loops forming a two-dimensional fabric from a one-dimensional yarnthread.
Knitted products byMatter of Fabrics in cooperation with Åsa Pärson. We launched a number of smaller knitted collections with blankets and scarfs. The design is timeless and simple to allow the textiles a wide range of use during a long time. In high quality - machine knitted but finished by hand.
All the crowns / coronas* are handmade and unique.
They are made from different textiles, pearls, woolen pom poms, paper, straws and in various origamishapes.
The crowns has been made since March 2020 and will be a maximum of total #200. They are given a number and name in order once they are completed. All of them are shaped during the making and if you find a favorite that is already sold, I can make something special for you, but never the same. The idea is that all live their own life.

*Corona means crown or wreath in latin. So they became coronas in coronatime.

Matter of Fabrics started in 2004 producing knitted quality products machine made and hand finished. They were sold in Sweden, Denmark, France, Japan and USA - to mostly well established interior and design shops. Matter of fabrics knitted products was a cooperation between me and a another textile lover.
The production had a brake and Matter of Fabrics did the same. Since then I have had the opportunity to work within craft, interior design and lately architecture. All enjoyable and developing years with alot of fun and interesting projects - are still full time working - now within a cultural building and its care.
While fulltime working I had a longer brake from textiles. After letting it rest I coincidently had the opportunity to slowly start up and it is with crowns in the making. Some textiles are also slowly comming up. Now updating the site with a selection of the crowns or coronas, some older textiles and some new in the process and becoming something. Or not.
